Shopkeeper Name

Sick or not, work has resumed! Some new maps are done and I'm working to integrate some of the new artwork in the game.

However, one thing I would like to do I want to leave up to you, the fans. Recently we've added name tags to all dialogue. The Shopkeeper who runs your business has no name. I'd like to give her one.

Please leave suggestions below, and I'll select my favorite to put in the game!

  2. Given the nature of this game, I see the shopkeeper as more of a Veronica, Alyssandra or Karine.

    3. i'm not totally fluent in Japanese, but I've been watching animes for 16 years and that's not counting manga... I really like Japanese names though, it's sort of easier to come up with names, to me at least

you need to consider that japanese, unlike many european languages has conserved their name culture. They are aware of the meaning of their names. So if you propose a japanese one, you should not just go by favorite caracter, but also by meaning. I was thinking about proposing a few too.

Uriko (sell + typical female ending)
      Aika (dust + scent)
      Chouka (peach blossom)

      also, how about german

Ladentrulla (something like: that girl in the shop)

    5. I would but...we're only suggesting and there's a great possibility of names I suggested not making it, besides, none of those are my favorites, true some of those I just suggested, but, some of those have that "shopkeeper" nature in my mind at least

Well, I must say that you're right about this and I never wanted to sound as if I apposed you're position but as a matter of fact, a name can only be considered as good, if it matches the sound of the sorrounding culture and language. I didn't play the game for quite some time now and don't remember the names. So I stated greek and old germanic ones, since it would fit in better than something like "Kitaoji Sorami".
P.s.: If we continue this conversation, we should may be do this at the LoKForum with PMs or something instead of spamming here

      Delete
    7. well all things considered an European name would fit better...
Ps:you're probably right, we're kind of spamming here, we should stop...if you want to continue just PM me at LoK

  20. Annaliese cuz its a nice name. Mercure' (accented French e) after the god Mercury. Nicole, after the patron saint of merchants. Francine, after the other patron saint of merchants. Adamina (apparently this is the female form of Adam) after Adam Smith of Wealth of Nations fame.
