Day or two Off

Normally I'd be working hard to get the general release done, but I went in to the dentist to get a filling done today. It turned out to be too far gone and I didn't have root canal money, so I had it pulled. It didn't numb well and was utterly excruciating. I hate that I was born with brittle teeth.

I hereby rank this as the fifth most painful thing I've experienced in my life. For reference, accidentally half chopping one of my fingers off with an axe is probably somewhere around #20.  The events leading up to temporarily being legally dead at one point are #2.

Anyway, because I'm in quite a lot of pain still I'm taking a day or two off. The general release should come on Monday. Probably.

  1. Sorry you had to go through so much shit. I can wait for the release because what would be the point if it wasn't the best you could do?

  2. ...Wait LEGALLY DEAD WHAT. There is a story behind that and I'm not sure if I missed it or not.

    2. There is a story but I have no desire to tell it. I got better.

    3. Well, no one lives forever anyway, so you always need to find a way back...

  3. As I had my own tooth pulled without anesthesia, I can relate to your pain. By comparison, having a half beer bottle shoved through my hand was mild in terms of pain. My sincerest sympathies.

  4. So, if temporarily being considered LEGALLY DEAD is only #2 on that list, then it will bug the hell out of me if I don't ask: what was #1?

    1. Being dead is painless. It's the process of getting there and coming back that hurts like a bitch.

#1 was a childhood ear infection.

  5. Now let us hear the tale of Frodo the Nine-Fingered and the Ring of Doom...

My worst pain: getting my toenails ripped out by the doc after the pain killer wore off.

  6. My worst pain was getting my pinky stuck in a bathroom door hinge for more than a hour when I was 6.

  12. ....The new background is hilarious in its ... appropriateness and inappropriateness all at once, and also because it's... fucking colourful, glowing, dancing skeletons.

A shame about the tooth, but great news about the impending release.

Not gonna lie, I was being lazy about brushing my teeth this morning, but I literally went and did that as SOON as I read that post, even before typing this shit.

    1. Good. I'm meticulous in how well I take care of my teeth. Unfortunately I was born with brittle, terrible teeth. Plus I like eating lemons and drinking coke, which is... not good for them, to say the least.

I'm pretty confident I'll at least keep the ones I have now until I'm 30, and for those of my family born with the problem I have that'll be a record. My mother got dentures before she was 30.

I brush my teeth and floss three times a day and use a mix of strong alcohol and hydrogen peroxide as mouthwash. That's what's let me keep my teeth this far. Anything less and I would have none.

Good dental care is vital for everyone. You want to know why those skeletons are happy and dancing and glowing? They've got a full smile. Their bones are packing so much fluoride that they glow. And that makes 'em happy.

    2. Hahahahahahahaha

Everything to do with those skeletons including the explanation for their dancing has been hilarious thus far.

I'm sure it will get old at some point, but ... "NOT TODAY."
