It has been a wild ride, everyone. Five years and tons of support have produced a spectacular game. When I started there was one adult RPG in english (Legend of Queen Opala), now there's several. I wanted to give my own spin on things and create a game where you played the bad guy and ended up basing it on a parody of Overlord and a Theology Essay that I wrote.

Now it is done. Enjoy, everyone.

(NoMoshing will no longer be hosting other people's games on BadKittyGames, so here is a Mega link for now. I'll add more options including a torrent option in the near future.)

(NoMoshing Agreed to host this for a while, so there IS a BadKittyGames link!)

And in case you've been linked here and have no idea what Overwhored is:
Overwhored is a fun RPG that puts you in the role of the Overmind, an immortal man that seeks to brainwash and bang all the women of the world. Three years ago you were slain by a group of mighty heroines, but now you have been revived by your loyal servants to fight them again!
The game has commissioned art from spectacular artists like Sleepymaid, PChronos, Hombre Blanco, and Mindwipe, as well as many other skilled artists!

Here are some previews of what you'll find in the game:

This is not the end of the journey - I will make more games in the future. So long as you support I will create.

  7. It's been a long ride, and a pleasure to follow how the game was developing. I am anxious and curious about the final result, but I'm sure it will be great. Long live, Cypress, and good luck with all your next tasks. May the winds blow your way, pal ^^

  12. Thank you for your service, sir, haha

In all seriousness though, great work. I've promoted it on my new blog, which just gained a little over 10 followers, so that should give you at least two or three more followers.

Keep up the great work! Looking forward to your next game :D

  14. It's good to see this out of the gate: About future games, have you ever thought of doing an actraiser style game about a monster girl empire? They got mentioned a lot in the game, but little is shown.

  15. Some bugs found (I'm playing it again from the beginning):
-Checking ennemies with shift doesn't always check the targeted one.
-Even if you kill everyone at the first village, they still alive as if you spared them.

    ReplyDelete

    1. That's not a bug the villager always remain after you kill them

      Delete
    2. Sorry forgot to but more up on the first reply how else are they going to show loyalty to the great conqueror of there village and women

      Delete
    3. I don't really get the point of having the choice of killing/sparing them, then.
      Also:
-When you go out of the arena in the bandit town (for the first time? After beating the 3 waves?), you zone out in the Barracks.
-The Overlord Portrait in the menu screen changed a bit after the capture of Branda (back to a generic RPGmaker armored guy icon)

      Delete
    4. Some other bugs I found myself :

-There a visual filter that darken the screen in the teleportation room. That's not the problem, the problem is that said filter remain when you exit the room, be it through teleportation or going into the tower. The only way to get rid of it and getting back to normal brightness is to go to the world map.
-There's some weird lag on Rubatie when she jump out of window following Brenda's defeat. She walk to the window and then freeze, the other characters keep talking as normal and then she only jump and disappear once the Overmind start checking on the princesses.
-There are some collisions issues on the world map around the Bandit Camp. You can walk through the big ass mountain/mesas like thing.

I'll report more as I find them.

    5. Piggybacking on this chain:

      -Ships automatically slow you down
-After getting off the goblin island to the mainland and off the ship, the character takes a similar path as the ship did right before and ends up back on it.
-It is possble to enter into the monster village right after getting off the ship. This seems fine, but Audr shows up in dialogue when talking to the "crazy" girl.
-Exiting the ruined village changes the world map considerably, and it is possible to go straight to Bilbao, which I'd assume to be sequence-breaking. This might also be possible if one collected a passport from the barracks using the arena glitch, but I cannot confirm this.

  16. Game crashing problem, don't know if already known.
In combat, when I cast Rubati's Resurrection, my game crashes and an error shows:
    "Unable to find file: Audio/SE/Magic".

  17. Spotted a rather odd bug: on the continent with the Dwarf city, leaving towns (I first noticed it when I left that raided village, which I went to before anywhere else) sometimes lands you on what appears to be an alternate map. On this map, the raided village has a rectangular graphic instead of square, the landmass is shaped somewhat differently, and most importantly, the Golem Fortress is not attached to the map properly. There's a castle on the world map, but walking onto it doesn't take you off the world map, allowing for a weird bit of sequence breaking, where I ended up in the city with the golems before I had captured Audr, let alone gotten the passport. There was a conversation that involved Audr, which for me happened while she was still uncaptured. Entering the docked ship and leaving resets you onto the correct map, where the golem fortress properly blocks the path without a passport.

  18. How do i get from the Tower of Heavens when i got stuck there after returning to the place post-Joy?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yo I'm at the same bug as Anon above, I just got off the the island where I had to find everyone after we sunk and now the map changes each time I enter a location and going onto the boat resets it. I haven't captured audr yet but I also ended up in a conversation at the golem city entrance with her about that magic armor.

  25. Hey Cypress-Z, I have never posted before, but I have been following Overwhored from nearly the beginning (found it while looking for hypno rags games way back when). I hope that it has been a good journey! I am excited to play the full version as I have been avoiding playing the updates for a while so I could have the full experience ^_^. I am still barely scraping by with loans as a college student, but once I graduate next year you're on the top of my list of Patreons to contribute to. Thanks so much for all of your hard work!

Also I am curious why Bad Kitty Games will no longer be hosting other games? NoMoshing is another content creator I am a fan of, and I was kind of hoping that Bad Kitty Games would become a larger community that hosted a library of different games. I am a tad bit sad to hear the news.

  29. Hello, I've finished the game, and I would like to ask a few questions.
Joy says she's working on a thing to get you back 'home', is this in this game or to be in the next one?
Getting the slave girls pregnant, I did fuck them few times, but later on saw no changes in the gameplay, pregnancy related, and saw some people talk about that it has to do something later, or I understood wrongly.
Is after you get the Joy and see the credits game over? Anything more to do?
    Next games connected to Overwhored?

All in all, hella game, best of its kind. 10/10

    9. Same problem here, screen all black after entering that opening on ice land, tried to press all buttons but nothing is working, also, i don´t see any building inside that opening, just a yellow camp on right side. I saw a few bugs while playing ( most already told about in here by other people ) but this is the first so far that made me incapable of continue, please fix it. Aside that, great game so far, thank you.

  31. So I did a thorough raking, and have found a heckload of bugs and typos scattered throughout the entire game, some of them carrying over from older versions of the game that were never fixed. I've put together a list and left it on Hongfire if you want to use it.

  32. Bug:

I entered the Arena (went to the desert before the cathedral) and, upon exiting, was deposited in the Barracks and encountered the goblins (which I had not yet properly encountered). Seems sequence-breaking and potentially game-destroying.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Additional Bug:

After loading an earlier save and avoiding the Arena, I spoke with the would-be usurper in the desert before going to the cathedral (could be relevant). After the cathedral, I returned and was told to find the Old Potion and the other ingredients for the weaker potion. A chest appeared in the now-open alchemy room containing the Old Potion - I also discovered Tasa's Breast Milk in my inventory (no part of that plotline had been completed yet and I hadn't met Tasa).

    2. I saw that bug too. You have to just leave to get out of it.

The bit about the Tower Mistress being Joy. I called that something like a year ago. Then I changed my mind on it. Then BAM! there it was. However, this does not mean in the slightest that it was overly predictable. Her reasons and what I thought were her reasons were entirely different. I thought she was pretending specifically to use the Overmind to curb the evil excesses of the other heroines. Glad I was wrong, because I like suprises.

There are issues. There are ALWAYS issues. A dialogue portrait that I believe was supposed to be for Nanshe was some dude with a scar across one eye. Audr still doesn't have an attack animation, and her skills have neither animations nor a description on use. All in all, though, well worth the wait. I cannot wait for Overwhored 2. It should be absolutely bitchin'.

  38. Eh...this game had much potential, but it seems lackluster in the end. Story went out of the window near the end and all you wanted was to finish the game as soon as possible. No side-quests, just linear story, a walkthrough would be absolutely meaningless as all you have to do is follow the rails. The amount of secret things to discover is nearing zero as well. Great job on the artwork...i wish you pooled more money into other areas tho. You take pride in being a writer, but i did not see any great writing in the game. The game was good at best.

Note: I stated my _opinion_. I have played the game since 0.5 or version around there, replaying the whole game few times. I stand behind every single word i wrote

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I disagree with your opinion. Consider: Why should the Overmind, a fallen god, waste his time side-questing for what amounts to insects. Most side-quests are either 'go here, kill that' or 'bring me this'. Also consider that, while there is no time mechanic, the Overmind is rushing to take out the heroines before they can band together and kill him (again). It would be a waste of his time and talents to do these things. Side sexy stuff is a bit different, because the Overmind requires sex to function.

As for secret stuff, not every game needs side secrets. I'd much rather find NPCs that say funny things than spend a bunch of time hunting for loot in far off corners. Loot that is only slightly better than what I just got from the blacksmith, because the game's difficulty doesn't just suddenly ramp from normal mode to hardcore mode.

For the story, what do you mean it went out the window near the end? The big twist, the huge reveal, finding the reason for the Overmind's existence, the heroine's backstories? So there wasn't a ton of exposition thrown into the tower itself, big whoop. I personally felt the final battle to be a climactic clash between two opposing forces that culminates in a good ending. The story there only felt rushed because the scene demanded it be rushed. In-story, you only had a little time before bad shit happened.

The game is linear. So what? Nearly every game is linear if you think about it. Just because you can wander around doing random crap before continuing the story does not make it any less linear. You're on the rails. You can choose to continue straight down the rails or hit a side path that will send you right back where you turned away so that you can follow the story rails again. Could there have been more to the world? Yes, of course. Once again, though, the Overmind is rushing to conquer the heroines so they cannot band together and stop him. Adding extra villages, a bunch of caves to explore, etc., would have been filler crap that would have sat oddly with the whole 'hurry up and stop the heroines' narrative.

As for the writing, I personally found it great. The comedy was good, your party is fun and interesting with their own distinct personalities, the story itself felt sufficiently momentous. You are trying to conquer the world, but you aren't anywhere near as strong as you used to be, so you have to rebuild your power slowly, attempting to take heroines without alerting the others, That plan falls through at the end of Sayda, but considering how powerful the heroines are, it isn't a surprise that 'soft methods' weren't going to work forever. One of my favorite bits of story is in the Bilbao Library, the Vivisection of the Overmind. You get to learn quite a lot about the brooding, monosyllabic character that is the Overmind. It doesn't tell you his motivations, but it does help you understand how he is so powerful. In fact, one of my favorite things the Overmind says is in Lapland. He says quite clearly "I have changed. I am happy." That, right there, is food for thought.

Conclusion: The game is pretty great.

Note: I also stated my opinion. I've been playing this game from right around the time Nanshe was introduced and some people were talking about naming the first town Burning Crate.
